Which skin cancers can be addressed with advanced surgical care?

Basal cell skin cancer

About 80% of skin cancers are basal cell carcinomas, which usually form on areas of your body that are exposed to the sun, including your head, face, and neck.

Squamous cell skin cancer

Squamous cell cancers are less common than basal cell. Like basal cell skin cancer, squamous cell cancers are brought on by sun exposure.

Melanoma

Melanoma is a less common but more dangerous type of skin cancer. Melanomas grow in the pigmented cells that give your skin its tan color.

Actinic keratosis 

Actinic keratosis is a precancerous growth caused by too much sun. A small fraction of these growths turn into squamous cell skin cancer.

What kinds of advanced surgical care do you provide?

Mohs surgery is an advanced surgical technique that has a 99% cure rate for squamous cell and basal cell skin cancers while minimizing scarring and preserving your surrounding skin. Dr. Hendi first numbs your surgical site then delicately shaves off a thin slice of cancerous tissue.  

He takes the tissue and examines it under a microscope in an on-site laboratory. Dr. Hendi repeats this process until all of your skin cancer is gone. Afterward, to minimize scarring, he applies a skin graft, uses stitches, or in some instances, lets your wound heal naturally.

The goal of your surgical treatment is to  free you of skin cancer.
